Position Overview    
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
 
This is a full time position as part of the Product Verification team at our Ottawa R&D Campus. Reporting to the PV Manager, you will work with design teams to develop and execute comprehensive tests that best emulate how our customers use our products. You’ll work with Carbonite, our popular compact production switcher family where you’ll test low level video input and output as well as software features, functionality and usability. In addition to Carbonite you will work with diverse product lines that include XPression real-time 3D graphics platforms, BlackStorm Video Playout Servers and devices such as CamBot Robotic Camera Systems, 3rd party audio mixers and many others.

Requirements
      
WHAT YOU KNOW
 
  • Post Secondary education in Electrical/Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist (Required)
  • Strong software and/or hardware verification background (Required)
  • Experience with hardware test equipment (waveform monitors, vector scopes, etc.) (Required)
  • Experience developing test strategies that cover electrical input/output in digital and analog environments. (Required)
  • Experience working and testing with Windows, Mac, UNIX or Linux operating systems. (Required)
  • Experience developing software test strategies that cover functional, performance and usability testing (Required)
  • Good understanding of the client/server software architecture and related testing methodologies (Desired)
  • Good understanding of IP networking, IP routing and network protocols such as SSH, FTP, etc. (Desired)
  • Experience with test case management systems, bug tracking systems and test plan development (Desired)
  • Experience with test automation that includes GUI based and script based automation tools. (An Asset)
  • Familiarity with broadcast video formats, TV production equipment or audio mixing equipment. (An Asset)
  • Familiarity with graphics or video editing tools such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere or Adobe Photoshop. (An Asset)
