Manufacturing Technician

Position Overview

This position is responsible for providing technical leadership for our milling staff.


Specific duties include:
  • Provide technical assistance to mill operators and toolpathers for problem jobs.
  • Disposition of defective or damaged parts and documentation of causes.
  • Will troubleshoot existing processes for improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel and materials.
  • Assist engineers by executing pilot runs, providing feedback of new processes, and the modification of current processes to be scaled to a manufacturing environment.
  • Confer with staff, and management personnel regarding production specifications, manufacturing capabilities, or project status. 
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department. 
  • Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization. 
  • Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
  • Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be flexible, self-motivated and team oriented.
  • Possesses an understanding of CAD/ CAM software, drafting, engineering drawings, machining and tooling principles and precision measurement.
  • Must have a strong background in manufacturing procedures and practices, including knowledge of machining processes.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly to all levels in the organization.
  • High level of customer focus, must have 3-5 years of manufacturing experience capable of working under limited immediate supervision, and excellent organization skills.
  • Able to use chemicals in accordance with safety standards.
  • Able to work safely with sharp and heavy objects (e.g., utility knives, aluminum blocks).
  • Able to use measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, dial indicators.
  • Successfully work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
  • Able to comprehend and follow printed and computer-screen instructions, and direction from supervisors or technical leads.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to use a computer and calculator.
  • Able to read and write in English
  • Do basic arithmetic
  • Must be punctual and have good attendance.


Physical job requirements:

  • Stand for up to 12 hours.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds waist high; carry up to 40 pounds alone.
  • Reaching, bending, and grasping.


Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent degree required
