This permanent full time position reports to the Director of Project Management and Business Optimization and has the following responsibilities:
- Successfully leading the implementation of assigned projects of various complexities from original concept through hand-over.
- Ensuring the delivery of a total business solution that meets agreed upon deliverables on time, within budget, and with a high-level of business satisfaction.
- Providing project management expertise to project teams throughout the PMV, regarding project management approaches, techniques, and tools as adopted by PMV.
- Facilitating and participating in the consultant selection process, when required. Negotiating and preparing contracts, ensuring proper delivery and appropriate sign off. Recommending approval of change orders, liaising with consultants, directing, and approving all phases of consulting work.
As the ideal candidate for this position you have a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Commerce or another acceptable degree ideally with demonstrated business experience and a minimum of 4 years of formal project planning and implementation experience.
You are a project management generalist and are ready to jump in and be comfortable with a wide variety of project contexts. You have thorough knowledge of all areas of project management including people change management and complex multi stakeholder projects.
You have strong business acumen, effectively manage budgets, provide skillful analysis and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills. Your interpersonal skills are excellent and you have the ability to liaise effectively and positively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
You have honed your skills at building project teams, facilitating conflict resolution and managing competing priorities. You are highly organized and detailed individual with an excellent capacity to engage listen, and build relationships. You possess strong computer skills with the ability to work independently, accurately and on own initiative to maintain work output.
Port Metro Vancouver offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including an Earned Time Off program. The starting salary for this position is $90,700.
