The Security Specialist assists the Manager, Security with the development and implementation of business requirements for PMV security systemsand the preparation of standard operational procedural documentation. You will:
Act as a resource to Operations Department in emergency and security planning matters.
Provides support in the development maintenance and promotion of corporate emergency preparedness programs.
Works with PMV information services and external resources to resolve security systems performance issues, as required.
Provide internal and external (Port Community Stakeholders) training and support for port security systems.
As assigned, assists with security assessments, maintenance of facility security plans and internal PMV security audits.
Assist with the development, implement and promote security programs, such as Access Control Officer policy and procedures, within the Port Community.
Assess the adequacy of Access Control Measures and alarm systems for PMV facilities and port roadways. Develop and maintain detailed procedural documentation for security-related systems, procedures and process.
Participate in meetings with external stakeholders and chair working groups and committees as required.
Assists with the interpretation, application and administration of; Canada Labour Code, Provincial Occupational Health, Safety and Corporate directives and policies. Promotes a safe workplace culture.
As a member of the Operations Center team, assists with response to emerging operational situations as required.
A two-year full time security-related diploma, coupled with a Board Certified Protection Professional designation (CPP) and a minimum of five years related experience in the provision of security services. Must be proficient with computer applications including the MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint and security reporting systems. Ministry Transportation Security Clearance is required. You will have excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills and the ability to interface with stakeholders and the general public.
