Position Overview The City of Port Moody is looking for an enthusiastic hard working individual to provide seasonal labour assistance to the Parks Crew. 
Responsibilities This is routine manual work entailing considerable physical effort and agility in the performance of a variety of unskilled and limited semi-skilled turf and field maintenance. This position will also provide maintenance of spray parks, playgrounds, sports fields and picnic areas and other duties as required.

This position is scheduled to work from approximately March 4, 2013 to August 30, 2013.  This employment period may be shortened, or extended, due to operational requirements.
Basic Qualifications
  • Grade 12 education plus a minimum of six months job-related experience or an equivalent combination
  • Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform heavy manual outdoor work in all weather conditions
  • Experience in operating small equipment and small hand tools
  • Ability to work alone or in a team setting
  • Maintenance of sports turf grass (sports fields or golf courses) would be an asset
  • Previous experience in landscaping/parks maintenance/irrigation/janitorial would be an asset
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence is required
