Position Overview
TheCity of Port Moody is looking for enthusiastic, hard working individuals to provide seasonal assistance in the City’s parks facilities performing janitorial work, ground maintenance and other related duties while interacting positively with the public.
This position will clean parks and public facilities, maintain the safety of playgrounds and public areas, repair playground equipment and remove graffiti and provide excellent customer service and public relations.

Please note that employment with the City of Port Moody is subject to the receipt of a satisfactory police records check and also a satisfactory driver’s abstract. Please submit your online application @ by the posting close date.


  • 1 position is scheduled to work approximately March 4, 2013 to November 2013
  • 1 position is scheduled to work approximately March 18, 2013 to November, 2013
  • 1 position is scheduled to work approximately April 15, 2013 to August 30, 2013

The employment period stated above may be shortened, or extended, due to operational requirements.

Basic Qualifications
  • Grade 12 education plus a minimum of 6 months job-related experience or an equivalent combination
  • WHMIS and Playground Safety certification
  • Experience using maintenance equipment such as leaf blowers and weed eaters
  • Good communication skills and experience providing customer service
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform manual outdoor work in all weather conditions
  • First Aid certification is an asset
  • BSW certification is an asset
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence is required
