Position Overview Port Moody Fire Rescue is seeking highly motivated individuals to join its team of suppression firefighters.  This is a career position which carries with it a rewarding work environment and the opportunity to assist the community.  The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligibility list of qualified applicants in preparation for upcoming retirements.

Basic Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Completion of an approved IFSAC or Pro Board Accredited Firefighter Training Program (N.F.P.A. 1001, Level  I and II) or equivalent
  • Completion of one year of post secondary education, or a Trade Qualification
  • Valid B.C. Class 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement
  • If hired, must reside locally (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Burnaby, New Westminster, Anmore, Belcarra) as outlined in the Residency Requirement Policy of the City
