| Position Overview |
Reporting to the General Manager of Development Services, this position will advance our sustainability framework and initiatives at a corporate and municipal level with a focus on environmental cultural, social and economic objectives. |
| Responsibilities |
- Lead a portfolio of special projects and strategic planning initiatives related to corporate sustainability and municipal sustainability including communication, training, policy and operational implementation
- Drive the implementation of the City's Sustainability Plan
- Provide information, direction and advice on cultural, economic, environmental and social issues to internal and external groups; act as staff liaison for civic committees
- Manage green house gas initiatives and promote environmentally sustainable growth
- Manage the day to day operation of the City's environmental section and budget

| Basic Qualifications |
- Bachelor's Degree in applied science, engineering, economics, social or land use planning or natural resource management
- Recognition as a sustainability professional and five years of related experience, including experience in senior project management and experience developing and implementing sustainability initiatives
- Knowledge of sustainability sufficient to provide technical coordination and leadership
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences including experience with public speaking and facilitation
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with a proven ability to understand the points of view of multiple stakeholders and to incorporate them to influence change, plan development and decision making
- Strong leadership skills
- Knowledge of Port Moody would be an asset
