Position Overview
This position is responsible for performing tasks in the areas of road maintenance and construction, drainage and flooding, grass cutting, traffic control and emergency call-out services.

The Operations Maintenance Worker will install, replace, maintain and repair a variety of street and traffic signs and asphalt and concrete surfaces for roadways.  This position will also assist in the installation and repair of water and / or sewer services, perform a variety of general landscaping tasks and perform snow removal and de-icing.  The incumbent will be required to operate single axle dump trucks, service trucks, skid steer loader and a variety of small mobile equipment and tools.

Basic Qualifications
  • Grade 12 supplemented with minimum one year of labouring experience including machinery operation, truck driving, landscaping, construction, and / or public works
  • A valid Class 3 BC driver’s license with air endorsement;
  • Experience and training with small tools and equipment
  • Ability to operate a variety of work vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform manual work outdoors
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers and members of the public
