Since 2005 St. Joseph’s Hospice has been serving the community of Sarnia Lambton as a Resource Centre for terminally ill people as they face their illnesses and through support programs for adults and children who are caring for or grieving the loss of a loved one. In response to community need, we expanded our services to include a 10 bed Residential Hospice in 2009. This ten suite home-like residence and resource centre, with its 50+ staff and 375+ volunteer base, provide 24-hour specialized palliative care to people with a terminal illness as they approach their end of life. Prime Management Group Inc., an Executive Search and Recruitment Firm is partnering with St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia Lambton to recruit for their Executive Director.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, your priority will be to assist in the development and execution of the Board’s strategic plan and policies. You will bring together staff and volunteers to guide the delivery of all aspects of Hospice programs and services within the Sarnia Lambton Community. As Executive Director, you will develop and promote a positive, professional work culture with an emphasis on quality. You will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare providers and other community agencies, while being the face of St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia Lambton to all stakeholders. As a not-for-profit organization Hospice is heavily reliant on community funding. In addition, you will be responsible for supporting the ongoing fundraising efforts and for building and maintaining relationships with current, past and future funders, donors, and key supporters.
You have a proven track record of leadership which includes management of staff; you are highly credible, articulate, with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. You have sound fiscal responsibility, exceptional judgement as well as a special talent for creating buy-in and support. As the Executive Director, you must be resilient, a team builder with the ability to provide direction and demonstrate critical thinking and emotional intelligence. Your relevant experience in financial management allows you to effectively plan, budget and forecast ensuring that financial goals are met and budgets adhered to. With your reputation for relationship building and your experience working with Boards of Directors and committees, you appreciate the need for a unified approach consistent with the St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia Lambton mission, vision and values. Demonstrated leadership experience in healthcare or related setting is essential.
Post-Secondary Education in either a healthcare and/or a business related environment is preferred.
