We have a full time employment opportunity in our People department for a Learning Specialist. This position is accountable to the Manager, People Development.
|Key Duties & Responsibilities
||•Manages a portfolio of learning projects and programs from design through implementation and maintenance.
•Facilitates content with ease and flair to both live and virtual audiences.
•Participates in organizational learning needs analysis.
•Works with in-house subject-matter experts and external vendors to design and develop e-learning solutions that are just-in-time, engaging and interactive for adult learners in areas including orientation, operational training and leadership development.
•Serves as an advocate for the learner in recommending and developing learning solutions
•Sources and analyzes “off-the shelf” learning & development products.
•Designs, develops and launches job aids and tools to managers and team members.
•Assists in the administration of corporate learning budgets.
•Acts as a centre of expertise on learning-related topics, queries and initiatives.
•Acts as a resource to support the organization’s LMS through teaching and coaching users.
•Maintains networks and partnerships with vendors, service providers and educational institutions.
•Remains current in learning and e-learning solutions.
|Criteria for Application
||•5 years of direct learning solutions design & development experience ideally within a retail, customer-centric organization.
•Experience with e-learning (including knowledge of authoring tools) and blended learning approaches are an asset.
•Proven track record in classroom and alternate delivery method facilitation.
•Project and program management experience in HR and/or Learning.
•Experience using HR management information systems and databases including proficiency with PeopleSoft, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.
•Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to promote collaborative relationships at all levels in the organization.
•Ability to champion change and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Sound analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Commerce with a concentration in HR Management or related discipline.
•Provincial Instructor’s Diploma (PID) or similar Adult Education certification is an asset.
•CHRP is considered an asset.
