Key Duties & Responsibilities Assists in managing the department’s business plan pro-actively to achieve financial results and targeted objectives (e.g. sales, productivity, margin, net contribution, expenses).
Assists in managing the effective execution of merchandising plans with a focus on product ‘mix’, presentation, sell through, sales and profitability.
Assists in managing product ordering and inventory control to attain established service levels.
Assists in managing the successful implementation and administration of people development initiatives (e.g. recruitment & selection, training & development, performance management).
Acts as a coach & mentor. Creates an environment where people are inspired to learn and develop.
Assists in managing the successful implementation and administration of operational programs (i.e. health & safety, food safety) including standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Promotes and sustains an “Always CUSTOMER FIRST” philosophy within the department.
Criteria for Application A minimum of 3 years retail experience in an Asian supermarket environment.
Fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese. English is considered an asset.
Experience and/or knowledge with:
Merchandising programs/concepts, including seasonal merchandising and in-store animation.
Health & Safety.
Food Safety Management.
Aptitude in working with numbers and math concepts.
Basic knowledge of PC applications is considered an asset.
