In this role, the successful incumbent will be responsible for providing strategic direction for the enterprise technical infrastructure function. Leading a diverse and talented group of IT professionals, this is a key role in providing the right technology to the Overwaitea Food Group to achieve its strategies.
|Key Duties & Responsibilities
•Leads development of the infrastructure strategy and architecture, including service delivery standards and procedures.
•Assesses the relative impact of IT industry trends to current and future enterprise infrastructure needs and projects.
•Develops plans for the migration to new technologies and champions the change within the enterprise.
•Collaborates with business unit leaders and other IT leaders to define infrastructure support initiatives and solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.
•Participates in IT strategy planning activities bringing a current knowledge and future vision of infrastructure technology and systems best practices as related to the needs of the business.
•Proactively researches and recommends courses of action to prevent problems and to maintain high infrastructure service levels for the user community.
•Responsible for ensuring disaster recovery plans and procedures are in place and up to date.
•Establishes metrics, key performance indicators and service level agreements for driving the performance of IT service delivery.
•Responsible for IT service delivery management of all databases, servers, networks, storage and other technology platforms shared across the enterprise. This includes both on premise and in the cloud.
•Manages strategic relationships with key IT product and services providers for technical infrastructure and responsible for contract negotiations and administration.
•Provides performance and career coaching to the Infrastructure and Operations leaders.
•Financial planning, budget management and human resource planning. With a focus on cost containment in a practical manner.
•Oversee lifecycle management and compliance with supplier agreements or maintained technology assets.
|Criteria for Application
•Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
•10 - 15 years of IT and retail industry work experience with breadth with a wide range of products, technologies and multiple platforms.
•Ability to work with competing interests and divergent groups to bring about positive change.
•At least 5 years of experience in managing multiple medium to large cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
•Experience in areas such as network design and administration, data centre operations, database administration and systems programming and administration.
•Proven business acumen in the grocery retail industry.
•Senior level communication abilities with strong interpersonal skills.
•Excellent facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, and team building skills.
•Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly with technical and non-technical people.
•High degree of pro-active initiative, drive, self-motivation, ability to learn, responsiveness and good judgment.
