||We have a permanent full time employment opportunity in our Supply Chain Department for a Senior Load Planner. This position reports to the Logistics Supervisor.
Senior Load Planner/dock scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking of OFG managed inbound and outbound freight. Load planner must resolve all carrier, vendor, purchasing, and warehousing daily issues. Ensure the freight is delivered on time to both retail stores and distribution centers. Build the most economical routes to maximize the cube while maintaining store delivery requirements. Utilize the Transportation Management System to optimize the most cost effective and economical routes and freight movement to the distribution facilities and retail stores to meet OFG’s service requirements.
|Key Duties & Responsibilities
||•Tender to contract carriers and monitor OFG shipments to ensure on-time delivery, communicating issues to warehousing, purchasing and retail stores.
•Assist carriers in resolving loading, unloading by utilizing the Transportation Management System to facilities and retail stores to meet OFG’s service requirements.
•Tender to contract carriers and monitor OFG shipments to ensure on-time delivery, communicating issues to warehousing, purchasing and retail stores.
•Assist carriers in resolving loading, unloading issues. Liaise with Purchasing and Warehousing to resolve freight booking issues.
•Assist carriers and vendors on booking issues.
•Expedite inbound shipments when required.
•Assist in overseeing OFG’s trailer pool is maintained.
•Coordinate with various business units on special events planning.
•Ensure all carrier or vendor custom’s documentation has been completed.
•Maintain various reports for carriers, warehouses, stores and departments.
•Process Freight claims and assist in resolving store billing issues.
•Prepare carrier payables for processing.
•Resolve after hour’s issues with regards to product availability, loading, carrier, and customs clearance.
•Communicate with retail stores, carriers and warehouses any issues or changes to loads.
•Trained fully in all load planning functions.
•Provide coverage for supervisor as well as acting lead hand to the load planning team.
|Criteria for Application
||•CITT transportation systems fundamentals courses leading to certification.
•3 years’ experience in transportation field
•Strong organizational and time management skills.
•Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
•Proficient in PC Applications and MS Office.
•Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment.
•Experience with transportation optimization tools an asset.
•Experienced customer service expert.
•In depth knowledge of the TMS/WMS systems.
•Customer order management and scheduling experience.
When performing outbound Load Planning coverage, this position has a start time as early
as 4:30am and requires some weekend shifts.
