Title Financial Services Associate - Entry Level - Whistler
Summary This is the position where most banking professionals started their career. This front line sales and service role will build the foundation for a career in banking. Traditionally called a "teller", this role has evolved to include an elevated level of knowledge and sales skills than previously required. Times have changed and so has the role.

Following established standards and procedures, this position provides quality service for clients by performing a variety of retail transactions. Promotes and sells BlueShore Financial products and services while recognizing opportunities for mutually beneficial product/service offerings. Refers clients with more complex needs to appropriate personnel as required.

Description • Provides superior service to clients by explaining and/or processing cash transactions, deposits (including term deposits), withdrawals, loan/bill payments, cheque cashing/ordering, personal information updates on accounts, foreign currency, fund transfers, drafts, travelers’ cheques, official cheques, and night deposit.

• Balances daily.

• Explains and charges appropriate service fees.

• Supports sales objectives and campaigns by selling and cross-selling products and services or by referring members with more complex financial needs to other personnel responsible for such sales.

• Reviews clients’ CRM profile during each transaction, updating as appropriate and acting upon potential opportunities. Refers more complex needs to appropriate personnel as required. Uses CRM to enhance the Client Intimacy (CI) strategy.

• Assists Managers with balancing ACD and treasury daily, replenishing cash and maintaining ATM area as required. Processes Central1 night deposit daily.

• Adheres to safety and security policies and procedures to protect the clients’ and credit union’s interests regarding transaction processing. Operates within cash holding and transaction approval limits. Follows fraud/forgery/counterfeiting and cheque cashing guidelines. Adheres to premises security and robbery procedures.

• Ensures confidentiality of credit union/member records.

• Possesses a basic understanding of the products and services offered through BlueShore Wealth. Makes referrals where appropriate.

• Supports branch team. Is punctual and contributes ideas to enhance branch operations and client experience. Is responsible for own sales activity management and tracking

• Maintains a positive attitude towards corporate initiatives and change management

• Develops and acts upon a learning plan in consultation with Manager. Plan includes short, medium and long term goals.

Experience • 1-2 Years minimum customer service and sales experience
• Demonstrated cash handling skills
• Working knowledge of computers
• Proven basic mathematical skills
• Grade 12 Diploma
