Position Overview The Supply Chain Director maintains overall responsibility for the development of strategic objectives to improve the company's in-stock and inventory positions for the assigned categories.
Responsibilities • The Supply Chain Director will set priorities within the supply chain planning team.
• Provide leadership in project definition, problem solving, and project implementation.
• Works in collaboration with assigned Merchandising Divisions to ensure successful execution of program plans.
• Understands the impact of replenishment and forecasting on the planning process
• Able to influence teams over which they may or may not have authority.
• Oversees new store set-ups from a supply chain perspective
• Identifies and leads process improvement initiatives.
• Leads a diverse team of Managers to obtain the strategic goals within their area of ownership.
• Collaborates with functional leads in the US to enhance the growth of the Canadian business.
• Sets priorities within the supply chain team and provide leadership in process definition, problem solving, and project implementation.
• Coordinate all program plans in collaboration with Merchandise and Operations supporting all Stores.
• Understands how to co-ordinate the effort of the replenishment, forecasting & vendor analysts teams to assist merchants in their planning needs to ensure effective inventory execution overall.
• Oversees new store set-ups from a supply chain perspective
• Understand how Supply Chain can influence top-line sales and bottom-line results
• Identifies and leads cross-functional process improvements within the Supply Chain function.
• Demonstrated the ability to collaborate with functional leads in the US to enhance the growth of the Canadian businesses.
• The capability to conduct financial analysis on inventory positions, margin impacts and risk assessments.
Requirements • Minimum 4 year Bachelor's degree in logistics, management or business administration
• Retail industry experience is a must
• 7 years related experience in one or more logistics disciplines (physical distribution, inventory management, manufacturing, DC operations management).
• Strong database/ analytical skills
• 7 or more years experience with a large retailer within the Supply Chain functions.
• Must be very detail oriented with good project management skills
• Must have good communication skills and able to support multiple teams
• Ability to interface effectively with management at all levels of the organization
• Excellent time management/ organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
