Title / Titre Project Manager (Energy Commodity Trading)

Position Overview Implement a new Energy/Commodity Trading and Risk Management system for the Liquids Marketing Team.
Integrate the new system with SAP and other external systems for accounting and master data

This is a 6 month contract.
Responsibilities • Define project scope, assist in requirements gathering and preventing scope creep
• Obtain required approvals from appropriate IT Management and client organizations
• Ensure that sufficient and appropriate resources are assigned to work all project activities
• Establish appropriate project team norms and practices including meeting formats and internal team working relationships
• Establish key project milestones, activities, and schedules
• Ensure that standard project practices and procedures are established and followed. This includes approval procedures, development methodologies, deployment practices, and production turnover procedures
• Monitor progress of all project activities and understand the critical paths of each project
• Communicate project status to sponsor and appropriate IT Management. Meet regularly (weekly) with project sponsor/business project leads to discuss status in the context of the triple constraints (scope, time, and cost)
• Manage risks effectively with proper mitigations (risk management plan)
• Ensure that all issues and decisions are appropriately documented, tracked, and addressed
• Ensure development of all project deliverables in a quality and timely manner, including appropriate project and production turnover documentation. Examples include: requirements (business, functional, technical, and service), solution design, communication and training plan, risk management plan, test and support plan, SLA’s, operational support, lessons learned, closeout, etc.
• Maintain and establish controls on Project Files
• Evaluate resource and team performance and reward accordingly
• Identify, evaluate, and document lessons learned during the project
• Facilitate project status, steering committee and financial review meeting
• Manage and reforecast project costs and steward to the AFE/budget
• Approve resource timesheets
• Work with Vendor Management Office (VMO) / Supply Management on vendor/partner negotiations (master agreements for software, hardware, support, maintenance)
• Arrange for the acquisition of licenses, hardware, consulting, etc.
• Work with vendors on solution implementation and deployment
• Work with Project Delivery Services to define approach and scope
• Stage gates preparation, execution, and follow-up
• Liaise with PMO and work with PMO Advisors for Governance
• Communicate project performance reports and scorecards
• Work with the business to develop and execute a Benefits Realization plan
• Test, monitor, and ensure benefits realization
• Rescue and recovery of troubled projects as needed
Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of IT project management experience
• Minimum 5 years implementing E/CTRM Systems
• Prior experience with Tier 1 E/CTRM vendors ( Allegro, Triple point, OpenLink)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances
• Be innovative in developing and executing the plan
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong team player
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Project
• Good general upstream oil and gas industry knowledge
• PMP Certification and PMI Membership
