The primary purpose of the Systems Engineer is to maintain, update, and enhance the Friedman
database and model structures in areas of BOM changes, new product launches, process improvements
and specials. This role must interact with employees both inside and outside of Product Engineering in
order to ensure that the most accurate and current information is reflected. |
| Responsibilities / Responsabilités |
Prepare Engineering whiteboards to accurately reflect product specifications and processes.
Gather all relevant drawings, materials, CNC programming and punch data for input into
Friedman.
Actively participate in the database creation and management of new products, additions or
improvements of existing product lines, specials, cost reductions, and maintenance projects.
Collaborate with Marketing, Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Production,
Quality and other disciplines or individuals to ensure the timely completion and success of
assigned projects.
Offer recommendations, where appropriate for the improvement of products or processes.
Perform other duties as may be requested by the Product Engineering Manager.
Coordinate the execution of assigned projects to completion based on established Product
Engineering procedures and practices, in keeping with a philosophy of “Continuing
Improvement”. |
| Requirements / Exigences |
A degree or diploma in Engineering or Computer Science with three years of experience, or the
equivalent in education, training and experience.
Experience with Systems Software (ERP).
Knowledge of general manufacturing practices and processes, engineering information systems
(BOM) and project coordination.
Computer literate with a detailed knowledge of network and PC based computer applications. |
