Position Title Hiring Now 2013 - Youth Supervisor
Position Overview
 
Come hang with us! The City of Kitchener offers a variety of activities for youth aged 12-17 through the Youth Drop-In, Doon Skatium Mobile Skateboard Park and Kitchener Youth Crew programs. As a Supervisor in these youth programs you will be working within a team environment to organize and lead nightly youth centred programs of sports, crafts, games, off-site trips, and tournaments.  
 
 
Responsibilities
 

-Plans, organizes and leads youth recreational and/or social development programs.

-Monitors youth centred programming and ensures that equipment and supplies are available.

-Participates in and leads various youth activities such as sports, arts and crafts, cooking, etc.

-Provides support to Youth Leaders including feedback, addressing minor performances issues

-Performs tasks to support program including budgeting, participant statistics and evaluations.

-Ensures participants follow all program expectations.

-Ensures the safety and enjoyment of participants through communication, monitoring and enforcement of program and facility rules, and addresses unsafe and unacceptable behaviour

-Assists with the set-up and take down of program equipment and supplies.

-Ensures safe use, condition, and storage of equipment.

-Completes related paper work

-Provides first aid as required.

-Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements
 
 
-          Must have minimum Grade 12 diploma.
-          Must have Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
-          Must have a satisfactory police reference check-vulnerable sector
-          Must have minimum 6 months of related experience
 
 
Recommended age: 18 or older
Employment Dates: June 10 - August 19 , 2013
Hours a week: 21
Hours of work: 6-10pm (*Tuesdays 6-11pm)
Wage range: $12.84-$14.17
Additional Information:
-          Works 21 hours per week (standard work week)
-          Not required to work on statutory holidays (July 1/August 5)
-          Must be available for full employment term
-          References will be collected at the time of an offer to interview/at the interview
