The role of a Senior Controls Engineer comes with a variety of different responsibilities and options to pursue many career paths. In particular, the Senior Controls Engineer will lead solutions for our Oil & Gas customers in a wide variety of applications. |

- Create, design and implement outstanding controls and automation system solutions for the Oil & Gas industry in Alberta
- Interface with customers and provide service and support on any controls and automation projects that fall under our scope of responsibility
- Assist the Controls and Automation Manager with project management and business development

| Responsibilities |
- Experience
An Electrical or Mechanical Engineer registered as a P.Eng. with APEGA in Alberta Minimum 5+ years of experience in the oil & gas industry
- Customer Support/Development
Participating in customer meetings from a technical perspective Participating in planning sessions that will identify industry business drivers and trends that will serve as the basis for developing key offerings to our customers - Project Management
Managing portions of projects as assigned Assist with quoting Budgeting & Scheduling Other general project management responsibilities - Performance Management
Accountable for individual performance goals that will be determined with your manager on an annual basis
- Design and documentation
Control panel schematic design and layouts Development and/or review of shutdown keys, narratives, IO lists, and system architecture drawings Development and/or review of Scope of Work (SOW) documents Preparation of purchasing documentation and bid evaluations for Control Systems Process control loops - Integration and Programming
PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Modicon) DCS configuration and programming (Emerson, Honeywell) RTU programming (Fisher, Control Microsystems, Bristol Babcock) Configuration of bus networks (ControlNet, DeviceNet, FieldBUS, ProfiBUS, Asi BUS, HART, Ethernet) HMI/SCADA Programming (FactoryTalk View, Wonderware, Citech, IFix)
- Start-up/Testing/Commissioning
Verification of supplied Control System functions (alarming, indication, control, shutdowns, archiving/reporting) Verification of specified and procured hardware/software Excellent troubleshooting skills Final on-site installation and verification of total solution
