Overview The Account Supervisor serves as the primary day-to-day client contact. The AS supports in developing the strategic direction for the brand and assists in managing the agency team through project implementation and execution. This position supports account profitability, client relationship at the product/marketing manager level, growth of accounts, and strategic cross-servicing opportunities. The AS is responsible for managing and training junior direct reports.
Description of Duties  
I. Advertising & Marketing
·         Self-starter who demonstrates initiative when exploring team/client needs, responding to requests and furthering understanding of marketing principles and pharma industry market dynamics

III. Responsibilities/Accountabilities
·         Manages day-to-day needs of account and maintains daily client contact and follow-up
o    Coordinates internal team across functions, including Producer, Account, Creative, Medical, Strategy, Digital, Managed Markets
o    Ensures common understanding of project objectives and effectively communicates next steps and action items to internal and client teams
o    Ensures client point of view is understood and client expectations and deliverables are met
o    Directly addresses client inquiries and concerns and partners with agency team to present solutions to client and agency
o    Effectively communicates agency point of view
o    Works with client team to develop communication objectives and drive tactical initiatives
o    Engages senior management in an appropriate manner regarding any client needs/concerns
o    Participates in tactical planning and scope development
o    Participates in strategy development
o    Attends client meetings as needed (market research, POA, NSM, yearly planning, etc)
o    Develops or oversees development of internal documentation per agency SOP (e.g., creative history books, client backgrounder, etc.)
·         Maintains financial control of the account including utilization and profitability
o    Assists with internal bi-monthly forecast updates
o    Prepares client budget/forecast reconciliations
o    Generates annual financial budgets
o    Proactively reviews financial status of account with client
o    Monitors account utilization
o    Ensures senior management is aware of any potential financial issues
·         Possesses a solid understanding of the industry, category, and brand
·         Understands agency strategic (Brand Story) and creative process (Creative Brief) and participates in development as directed
o    Ensures materials developed are on strategy and message
o    Proactively reviews strategic plan to support brand planning
·         Mentors, educates, trains, and motivates junior account staff
o    Sets clear performance expectations and identify goals
·      Works with senior leaders to identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and pull through InVentiv service offerings; supports external new business initiatives as requested
o    Maintains working knowledge of iHC solutions and resources and recognizes/acts upon convergent opportunities.
Minimum Requirements  
·         Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of prior experience in agency or healthcare marketing environment
·         Travel required approximately 30%
·         Strong knowledge of general pharmaceutical marketing and sales, brand management and/or consumer marketing, preferred
·         Working knowledge of common internet/new media concepts and practices
Key Competencies The successful Account Supervisor is extremely detail oriented, an active-listener, is able to take and give direction and effectively communicate business needs. This person possesses a general understanding of advertising communications and brand strategy and is developing a keen understanding of pharmaceutical industry landscape. This person has the ability to see projects through from implementation to execution and has a clear understanding of how each project and the overall scope of work supports the brand objectives and contributes to tactical execution of brand strategies.
