Overview The Engagement Strategist is part of the Engagement Strategy and Insights team. He/she is responsible for the strategic media (digital and traditional) planning to recommend channels to deliver an integrated communications plan focused on achieving audience and brand engagement. He/she demonstrates a core understanding of brand planning and digital executions. The ideal candidate will assist the Senior Communications Strategist with audience media consumption, competitive, and landscape insights and media mix recommendations.
Description of Duties • Strategic Planner and Thought Leader
o Lead insights gathering and strategic story crafting by using key consumer, competitive, and landscape insights regarding channel usage and specific channel-level research and vehicle selection
o Assist with creating marketing strategies as a subject matter expert pertaining to digital and traditional media executions
o Determine critical channel insight, innovative thinking, and ideas generation for media mix recommendation
o Broaden the team’s solution set through the adoption and use of new media

• Client Counselor
o Actively participate in client presentations, market research, and new business opportunities
o Command a room by speaking eloquently and act as a lead strategist
o Understand the business objectives and marketing needs of the client
o Analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative information in order to propose recommendations that will have tangible marketing and business impact for clients

• Strong Communicator and Collaborator
o Work with teams across multiple offices and communicate ideas and strategy clearly
o Partner with Insights Analysts to synthesize key takeaways from research to provide actionable recommendations
o Collaborate with Media Planners and Search Strategists to create media plans
Minimum Requirements • Years of Experience & Education
o 4+ years of experience in media strategy and media/communications planning
o Bachelors or advanced degree in marketing, market research, or other analytical field
o Experience in media planning/buying and strong understanding of digital media, social media, search engine marketing, and mobile marketing
o Experience with web analytics tools, audience profiling and research, and media planning tools
o Preferred experience in healthcare and pharmaceuticals industry

• Skills and Attributes
o Strong planning skills, including the ability to proactively prioritize multiple activities
o Strong cognitive skills, including problem-solving, decision making and data analysis
o Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication skills
o Experience in building presentations in PowerPoint
