Title Professor, Electrical Apprenticeship
Position Summary The incumbent will be responsible for instructing courses within the Electrical Apprenticeship Program. Responsibilities include development, delivery, lesson planning, assignment setting, lab development, manual development to meet learning outcomes, setting course evaluation criteria, class management and student project assessments. The successful candidate will be committed to student learning and be comfortable working in a culturally diverse setting.
Qualifications The successful candidate must have a Certificate of Apprenticeship and be an Interprovincial Red Seal Holder, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in all aspects of Electrical – technical skill, installation, field construction, rigging and safety. In addition, candidates will have previous teaching experience and possess demonstrated initiative, strong written and oral communications skills at a superior level, the ability to work in a diverse, dynamic, multicultural environment, commitment to teamwork, a high degree of attention and focus on detail, and the potential to assume broader administrative responsibilities, and an understanding of the learner-centered approach to teaching and learning. Computer literacy and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are also required.
