Title Program Coordinator, Web Design & Interactive Media
Position Summary The successful candidate will teach in and coordinate the Web Design & Interactive Media program. In addition, the incumbent will support student recruitment, student advising, student mentoring, and the implementation of innovative instructional techniques; and ensuring growth, development, quality, relevancy and currency of the programs. The incumbent will be responsible for: recommending improvements in curriculum and procedures; coordinating meetings with Advisory Committees; undertaking with others, the development of new courses or programs; recommending the selection, hiring, orientation, and coordination of part-time and full-time faculty in the programs; chairing regular faculty meetings; assisting with the assessment of applicants; enrolling and orienting new students; assisting students with internships and full-time employment upon graduation; and liaising with other program coordinators, department heads, support staff, associations, and employers as required.
Qualifications Candidates are expected to have completed a relevant graduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, relevant professional skills and credentials in the field of media production and design, and a minimum of five years related professional experience. Other qualifications include: a comprehensive understanding of the media industry, particularly the cluster actively characterized as “interactive media”; proven desire and adaptability to work in a diverse, dynamic, multicultural environment with scarce resources; demonstrated teaching experience in a post-secondary institution with competency in teaching and learning with a student-centered approach; a proven commitment to professional development, lifelong learning and non-traditional delivery methods; excellent teamwork, presentation, inter-personal, organizational, and communication skills, demonstrated previous experience with orientation and recruitment, and a clear commitment to a customer service orientation.
Notes Duration: This Coordinator position is a three (3) year term assignment.
