Title #2013-098 Coordinator, Student Life
Position Summary Reporting to the Manager, Peer Programs & Community Engagement, the Coordinator, Student Life is responsible for the planning and implementation of student life programs, within the area of Peer Programs. The incumbent will support student development initiatives, coordinate activities and events, and provide leadership development opportunities and resources to various student constituents. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the Learning Skills Workshop Series and peer mentoring programs which consists of: recruiting, assisting with hiring, training, coordinating and advising mentors, developing workshops and providing support to mentees. In addition, the incumbent will oversee the bookings and scheduling of each program and ensure appropriate tracking and assessment is occurring.
Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a 3 year diploma/degree in Education, Psychology, Public Relations, Social Work, Human Development, or equivalent, along with a minimum of 3 years demonstrated ability and proven success within the field of student services at a post-secondary institution. Direct experience in event planning, advising, training, and working with students, as well as strong presentation skills are required.
