Title #2013-012 Registration & Records Officer
Position Summary Under Administrative direction of the Manager, Records & Registration, the Registration & Records Officer analyses and recommends remedies to problems affecting full-time post-secondary and part-time students’ records; ensures the completion and accuracy of all enrollment reports submitted to the Ministry; maintains EIS account tables and related data in the course database; provides initial systems overview for new records and registration staff; investigates and monitors issues of record security. The incumbent lays the foundation for the annual registration cycle, ensures timely publication of registration information and tracks student progress. This position is key to the overall functioning of the Records Department in that the incumbent co-ordinates the timing of events and provides the framework for other members of the department to follow through with the process of data.
Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a minimum 3 year diploma/degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Database Management, or Micro Computer Applications, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar capacity. The incumbent must be a self-starter who is able to initiate projects, work with minimal supervision, is able to make and be held accountable for decisions, can handle many tasks simultaneously and is able to work well under pressure. The incumbent must have superior problem solving skills and communicate both orally and in writing with all levels of college staff; be computer literate in a windows environment and be able to learn and adapt to new and changing software packages. The incumbent must have knowledge of the College academic structure and programs, and understand the impact this role has on the educational process and administration of college admissions, timetabling, SWF’s, calendar publication, student tracking, and registration.
