Title #2013-007 Learning Services Assistant
Position Summary Reporting to the Business Manager, the incumbent will be one of the key resource persons providing a comprehensive range of support services necessary to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the School of Media Studies & IT at the North Campus. Responsibilities include: secretarial support to Administrators, Program Coordinators and Faculty; receptionist services by responding to general enquiries regarding full-time studies and continuous learning programs; word processing of correspondence and instructional and support materials; coordinating meetings; assisting students with routine school and college procedures; maintaining updates to course outlines; preparation of teaching contracts; providing logistical support for special events; and coordination of materials to ensure a timely and accurate flow of information.
Qualifications The successful incumbent will possess a college diploma in Business Administration or equivalent in a related field, along with a minimum of two years of related experience which demonstrates familiarity with general office operations and procedures. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate: excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong customer service disposition; solid working knowledge of MS Office suite; proven ability to meet deadlines and complete work on own initiative; demonstrated ability to work well under pressure within a team environment; demonstrated skill and knowledge to deal with all aspects of diversity in a post-secondary environment. Knowledge of college policies and procedures and experience in a post-secondary institution will be considered an asset.
