||The successful candidate will provided a comprehensive range of support services necessary to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Department of Liberal Studies in the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences. Duties include: providing secretarial and logistical support to the Associate Dean, Program Coordinators and Faculty and assisting in fulfilling college, department and curriculum requirements; registering and transferring students in courses during start-up; preparing course outlines and ordering text books. In addition the successful applicant will be responsible for responding to day-to- day enquiries, needs and requests of faculty and students; updating various tracking forms; preparing departmental contracts and applications, including travel expenses, cheque and purchase requisitions and Human Resources information.
||The successful candidate will possess a two year college diploma or equivalent in a related field along with a minimum of two years of experience which demonstrates familiarity with general office operations and procedures. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with a strong customer service disposition as well as the skill and knowledge to deal with all aspects of diversity in a post-secondary environment while working in a multi-cultural office environment. Exceptional computer skills, including the ability to manage electronic calendars, update websites and develop basic marketing materials is required. Experience with Blackboard 9.1 would be considered an asset.
Duration of Need: December 2013– February 2015
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week (8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.)
