Title Coordinator, Student Events
Position Summary The Coordinator, Student Events is the lead hand responsible for organizing and assisting with the planning and implementation of events specifically related to Student Success and Engagement including but not limited to: Academic awards recognition events, Student Appreciation Awards Banquet, Student Art Show, Alcohol Awareness Day, Aboriginal events, Student Leadership Institute and Orientation. The incumbent is required to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with School representatives, program coordinators, Finance and the Records departments to ensure maximum cooperation. An organized, relationship builder with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure with firm deadlines is required within the role. In the absence of the Director, or if there are overlapping events, the incumbent will seamlessly perform all functions during an event. Knowledge of Humber’s full-time program offerings, with a focus on program intakes and length is an asset. Experience with EIS, LIS and Banner; and proficiency with Microsoft Office and mail merge is required.
Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a three year diploma or degree, preferably in public relations, computer science, business, administration or marketing, along with a minimum of three years of practical work experience in a similar capacity. In addition, the incumbent must have demonstrated ability in project coordination, planning and promotion; strong communication, organizational, financial management and interpersonal skills are required. Experience working in the college system and computer literacy in MS Office Suite would be considered an asset.
