Title #2012-241 Registrarial and Student Financial Services Coordinator
Position Summary Under the general direction of the Campus Registrar, the Registrarial & Student Financial Services Coordinator provides financial services support and advice to students including: coordinating the OSAP process (i.e. advising, application, eligibility, estimates, distribution, and appeals), administering the application and assessment process for all University of Guelph-Humber bursaries and scholarships within a set budget, developing terms and conditions for new awards, facilitating the billing payment and refund process for students each semester, providing advice to students experiencing financial difficulties (i.e. budget planning, emergency funds, etc.), generating student correspondence, delivering workshops related to financial services, registration billing, confirmation of enrolment procedures for students, coordinating the work of part-time and work study student positions in the office as required. Coordinating data and materials related to Convocation, as well as assigned special projects determined by the Campus Registrar, are also an integral part of the duties assigned.
Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a four year degree or equivalent in a related discipline along with a minimum of three years of related experience. The ideal candidate will be an organized and detail minded individual with excellent communication skills who can interact comfortably with staff, students, faculty and senior administration at Humber College and the University of Guelph. Detailed knowledge of Registrarial policies and procedures; experience advising students, their parents and secondary school personnel and the ability to impart information tactfully is required. Excellent computer skills are also required, particularly experience with a student information system, preferably, Colleague and OUAC Telnet. Knowledge of the University of Guelph-Humber in general and experience with university policies and procedures in particular, as well as knowledge of the Ontario Student Assistance Program will be considered an asset.
