Title #2013-014 Clinical Psychologist
Position Summary Under the general direction of the Manager, Student Wellness and Development, the incumbent is responsible for providing comprehensive clinical psychology services to the College Community in conjunction with the Health & Counselling Services Departments. The incumbent as required will assess & diagnose individuals who are coping with complex mental health issues, or provide treatment plans for individuals who arrive with a diagnosis. The incumbent will act in a consulting role, augmenting mental health services provided elsewhere in the College. Additionally, he/she will liaise with community agencies to resource ongoing support and treatment services for those individuals whose needs may fall outside of the College’s available resources.
Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a Doctorate Degree in Psychology and be a licensed practitioner in the Province of Ontario with a minimum of three years work experience. The incumbent will demonstrate; superior written and oral communication skills, have experience utilizing electronic medical records systems, display comfort with diagnostics and formal assessments and have familiarity with MS Office applications including; word and excel. In addition the successful candidate will demonstrate experience in; the direct provision of psychology services to clients, specifically with a youth population, additional experience in threat assessment and crisis management is considered a definite asset. Other qualifications include; interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive issues that may involve students, staff, faculty and the community, along with; experience working within a multidisciplinary team (i.e. physicians, other mental health professionals).
