||Academic Services Department Head
||Under the general direction of the Vice-Provost, University of Guelph-Humber, the Academic Services Department Head is accountable for supporting the strategic goals of the University of Guelph-Humber by ensuring the provision of academic support services for all University faculty; coordinating the recruitment process for faculty appointments; overseeing the curriculum revision process for all programs offered by the institution; and contributing as a member of the University of Guelph-Humber senior management team. The successful candidate will also be responsible for administering all orientation programs for new faculty; contributing to the development of the departmental operating budget in conjunction with the Finance & Administration Department Head & the Vice-Provost; overseeing the budget for the Academic Services Unit; and ensuring policies and procedures are in place, and followed, in the delivery of academic services.
||The successful candidate must have a relevant degree at the Bachelor’s level, along with a minimum of three years of related work experience. In addition, the incumbent must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and must be able to effectively lead and motivate staff. Additional qualifications include: organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage & respond to changing priorities; ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy in dealing with a wide variety of contacts and constituencies in a professional and confidential manner; must have computer literacy in a wide variety of applications, specifically MS Office Suite and database management.
