Title Supervisor, Child Care Centres
Position Summary Under the direction of the Director, the incumbent is responsible for the ongoing daily operation of the child care centre. The incumbent provides leadership, guidance and effective role modelling to the Early Childhood Educators and Cook in carrying out a quality program in accordance with established guidelines set out in the Day Nurseries Act (1984), The Operating Criteria for Child Care Centres providing Subsidized Care (1997), Public Health and Fire Regulations, The Early Childhood Education Division, the School of Health Sciences and the College. The incumbent must communicate effectively and promote a professional image to parents, staff, students, college personnel and members of the community on a regular basis.

Qualifications The successful candidate will have a diploma in Early Childhood Education, or ECE Advanced Studies, or equivalent; current First Aid/CPR certification; successful medical TB test results; and a criminal reference check. A minimum of 5 years of current experience in an inclusive child care setting and proven working knowledge of the Day Nurseries Act, Public Health Regulations and Fire Regulations are also required. Additional qualifications include: excellent teamwork, problem solving, written/verbal communication, and human relations skills; demonstrated skill and knowledge to deal with all aspects of diversity in a post-secondary environment.
