Title Data Control Clerk
Position Summary Reporting to the Manager, Mainframe Operations, the incumbent accepts computer input data and report/processing requests from college users, controls the scheduling of its processing on the computer system, and disseminates the output materials. In addition the incumbent is responsible: for assuring data accuracy at all stages of the workflow through the computer system; system availability by ensuring proper data backup/recovery procedures are followed correctly; and that day-to-day continuous computer service to available for computer users, utilizing the college’s IBM z/800 mainframe computer system.
Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a 2 year diploma in a computer studies program along with 2 years of practical experience in the field which demonstrates knowledge of: XEDIT editor and various other CMS utilities. In addition the successful candidate should have operating experience using z/VM, VSE/ESA, VSE/POWER, and VSE/CICS. Additional qualifications include strong problem solving, communication (written and verbal), and analytical skills, along with keen attention to detail and the ability to work well with minimal supervision.
