| Position Summary |
Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Business Placement Advisor is a proactive team member in the Business School responsible for the delivery of field practice, business job placement and providing employment services to graduating business students. The incumbent assists and prepares students for their placements and for the labour market through: employment counselling; job search training; workshops and networking events; external marketing to employers; internal liaising with college departments; business community liaising; on-going labour market research assessments, and database management. The incumbent is also responsible for populating the college wide co-op website with employer requests. |
| Qualifications |
The successful incumbent will hold a 3 year college diploma (or equivalent) , university degree preferred, and have a minimum of three years’ work experience in Human Resources or employment recruitment. Exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision are essential. Other qualifications include demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, exercise good judgement, work with significant interruptions, and resolve conflicts. The incumbent must be able to deliver employment training to students, research new employment opportunities, liaise between employers and students, maintain database and Blackboard site, and plan career networking events. The ability to search and post on employment websites is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats. The desire and ability to work in a diverse, dynamic, multi-cultural environment with scarce resources is expected. |
