| Position Summary |
The incumbent will be responsible for developing and delivering programs and services that integrate library research and information literacy skills into the University of Guelph-Humber curriculum for Kinesiology, Psychology and Electives programs. In addition, the incumbent will assume reference service and collection development responsibilities. Librarians may also assist with administrative, outreach, and user services functions, provide guidance to support staff assigned to their areas of responsibility, and perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Library Services. |
| Qualifications |
The successful candidate will possess a Master of Library and Information Studies or equivalent from an American Library Association accredited institution and will have reference and instruction experience with a diverse clientele preferably in health sciences disciplines and in an academic or clinical setting. Experience managing Web site content and developing learning objects for information literacy curricula is required. Educational background or work experience in the health sciences, experience using the OCUL virtual reference utility (Ask a Librarian), and knowledge of the research process in an academic environment will be strongly preferred. Additional qualifications include: strong verbal and written communication, demonstrated teaching abilities, creative thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal and customer service skills. The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to working in a team environment and a demonstrated ability to multi-task a variety of responsibilities and projects. |
