Title #2013-003 Secretary
Position Summary Reporting to the Manager of The Business School, this position provides reception and secretarial services in The Business School office at the Lakeshore Campus in H106. The incumbent ensures the timely and accurate ordering of textbooks; the expediting of tests/assignments; the word processing of all course outlines; completes and maintains accurate files on computer for storage and reference including the shared drive; produces and distributes Advisory Committee minutes and related information to members of selected Business School Advisory Committees and for the subsequent liaison with the President’s office; responds to student enquiries and provides faculty with teaching material. In addition, the incumbent expedites payment of Travel Expense Forms and invoices on Banner. The incumbent will also be responsible for expediting payment for the SEDS Indonesia project, through the use of the Banner system.
Qualifications The preferred candidate will have a minimum of a two-year diploma or equivalent in Office Management and/or Business Administration, along with a minimum of 2 years of related experience in an office environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience in a post-secondary environment would be considered an asset. Other qualifications include: demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, exercise good judgement, and work with significant interruptions; exceptional skills in Banner, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Additional skills required: superior time management, excellent communication, interpersonal, exceptional customer service, conflict resolution; analytical and problem-solving skills; and the ability to work as part of a team or with minimal supervision in a busy work environment.
