||Technical Services Library Technician
||The incumbent is responsible for providing a range of user support services relating to the acquisition and cataloguing of library collections including books and e-books. Other duties include instructing students, faculty and staff on the use of library research tools, including online information databases, reference materials, the internet and other duties as assigned. Work shift changes as required.
||The successful candidate will possess a library technician diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of one year of experience in a library or in a public service environment performing such duties as reference and library support services is required. Additional qualifications include: a working knowledge of complex library information and reference functions; ability to work independently and exercise good judgment in a demanding public service environment; demonstrated effective customer service skills; excellent interpersonal skills; and a demonstrated ability to acquire subject expertise quickly to provide effective and efficient reference service. The successful candidate will also have strong knowledge of acquisition and cataloguing functions.
