Title #2013-006 Administrative Assistant
Position Summary The Administrative Assistant is accountable for providing confidential support to the Associate Vice President, ensuring the effectiveness of the office in carrying out the mandate for the college and its partners. The Administrative Assistant ensures the timely and effective management of areas reporting to the Associate Vice President; advises and provides consultation to the leaders and staff of the divisions; undertakes responsibility for special assignments and projects on behalf of the senior administration in the college; and provides a professional image of the college at all times. As the only Administrative Assistant in the grouping of areas, the incumbent provides similar support to the Director, Professional Development and the Director, eLearning.
Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a 3 year diploma/degree in Business Administration or equivalent, along with a minimum of 5 years of related experience. In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, conflict resolution and problem solving skills; advanced computer skills; and the ability to organize and prepare professional documents ranging from general correspondence to extensive business plans and reports.
