| Position Summary |
Reporting to the Manager, New Student Recruitment and Advising, the New Media Specialist coordinates e-recruitment strategies in support of Humber’s student enrolment objectives. Specifically the incumbent will: create and maintain content in the student portal system; mediate social media networks (Facebook/Twitter); develop and update multimedia presentations; create e-newsletter templates; and provide graphic design and layout support for printed publications. In addition, the incumbent will provide technical support and moderate virtual community initiatives, assist in the overall e-recruitment strategy by staying abreast of new trends in web technology, changes in web use and e-recruitment tools; advise, communicate and coordinate with Student Recruitment and Marketing in regards to e-communications and social media; assist in creating and distributing e-marketing materials such as e-newsletters, FLASH emails, etc and; assist in the surveying of student feedback for various projects hosted by the Office of the Registrar. |
| Qualifications |
The successful candidate will possess a diploma or degree in Computer Science, Web Development or Multimedia Design & Production along with two years of related experience. Additional qualifications include: demonstrated skill in writing and updating website content and enhancing usability; fluency in HTML, JavaScript, Dreamweaver, PHP, XML, FLASH/Action Script, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and mySQL; and excellent communication, organizational and problem solving abilities. |
