$23.55 – $27.30 per hr (35 hrs per week)
Processes and evaluates post-secondary applications; provides follow-up and consultation to applicants on the admissions process, requirements and testing procedures.
Monitors daily/weekly statistics of incoming work, application processing, and work outstanding to ensure backlogs are managed and deadlines are met.
Reviews and resolves any data entry anomalies that are identified to expedite the Admissions process and ensures compliance with all admissions policies and provincial audit requirements.
Assists with the correction and or provides manual intervention to process electronic applications transmitted by the Ontario Application Services (OCAS) that are not processed by the Student Information System.
Monitors daily operational reports and ensures system processes are functioning efficiently and effectively in order to meet established timelines.
Manages all program applications and controls student intakes to ensure program enrolment targets are met for each cycle.
Acts as the Registrar’s Office contact for academic divisions on any related inquiries to enrolment targets and/or application status reports.
Works with the admissions coordinator to resolve any processing or admission requirements issues.
Initiates communication with applicants, through written correspondence, e-mail, telephone or in person visits, to ensure all required documentations are received to process an application.
Ensures all program admission requirements are completed by the start of classes on any conditional offers of admission issued earlier in the cycle.
Advises applicants when conditions are not met and works with faculty to follow up on an applicant’s missing requirements.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Three year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business Administration and/or Public relations or equivalent.
Minimum two years practical experience in a high volume fast paced office environment, preferably in a larger customer service/educational environment.
Intermediate level in Microsoft Office applications; proficiency using student information system, (i.e., Banner) or relational database and keyboard accuracy.
Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written; aptitude for detail and accuracy.
Excellent customer service, analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to foster effective interpersonal co-operative work relationships, supporting the teamwork structure both internal and external to the unit.
Ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines with minimum direction.
Ability to work in an environment where diversity of people and situations are encountered.
Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
The College requires proof of degrees, credentials or equivalencies from accredited regional or federal post secondary institutions and/or their international equivalents. Credentials may require validation at the time of interviews.
