Manager, Field Education and Partnerships (REVISED)

Reporting to the Director, Centre for Business, the Manager is responsible for the strategic development and management of the Field Education and Partnership programs in the Centre for Business. This role has key accountability for enhancing employer partner relationships to advance student learning objectives, industry partnerships and student experiential opportunities.
Plans and executes strategic direction for the Field Education Office, through collaboration with internal and external industry partners, to: develop business opportunities for field education, manage the execution of partnerships and student experience, resolve issues which may impact the reputation of the Centre, and develop and report on performance of the Field Education Office.
Directs and manages the delivery and marketing of all field education programming and partnerships; liaises with Marketing to develop and execute promotional materials.
Develops, leads and executes events that support field education and partnerships; represents the Centre for Business at external events to enhance the strategic positioning of field education initiatives, partnership opportunities and the Centre for Business.
Develops processes, quality assurance standards, policies, procedures and reporting metrics to ensure that standards are maintained in the delivery of field education and partnership programs.
Manages full-time staff (4 Co-op Education Officers and a Co-op Student Services & Admin. Assistant) and students through effective recruiting and selection, developing, setting work objectives, managing performance, coaching and building the field education and partnership team.
Leads the development and execution of short and long term planning objectives and regular reporting and quality assurance metrics on field education initiatives and ongoing job and partnership development activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related program including business planning and management; specialization in job development strongly preferred.
A minimum of 7 years’ progressively responsible work experience managing business development, employer/client relationships, public relations and career management, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
Expertise in job coaching, career development, and understanding of experiential learning (field or co-operative education) and its value to student learning and industry partners.
Effective leadership, team building, mediation and coaching skills.
Experience managing in a unionized environment.
Proven ability to network and build relationships that achieve outcomes, strong customer relationship management and a service focus is critical, including proven track record dealing with senior industry leaders.
Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Project management experience and the ability to meet program objectives and deliverables.
Excellent communication skills including oral, report writing, and presentations.
Ability to work effectively in an environment where a diversity of people and situations are encountered.
