Title Component Shop Planner / Tech Support
Job ID 13-056
Position Overview  The Component Shop Planner position reports to the Component Shop Supervisor and is responsible to plan, organize and track the Component Shop workload based on component planning and shop capacity.
Responsibilities
  • Planning—generates and tracks project plans to meet the requirements of the Component planning by:
    o   Working closely with the Planning Department and other internal departments, both YLW and bases
    o   Establishing and maintaining vendor relationships
    o   Planning components according to required schedule. Producing project plans and tracking progress
    o   Participating in production meetings with shop management. Planning for required parts as per agreed shop load
    o   Researching parts in the Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC) to produce 100% parts lists and procurement options
    o   Planning in-house accessory routing and outside vendor accessory routing to ensure required parts are available to meet project timelines
    o   Conducting parts and assembly turn-time tracking, tracing and expediting across departments and with vendors
Requirements

·         Grade 12 minimum

·         Aviation maintenance experience
    • Previous experience with Boeing, Convair and Douglas maintenance and repairs an asset
·         Preference given to AME/SCA candidates
·         Working knowledge of Transport Canada Airworthiness Regulations, Component Manuals and Component Service Bulletins
·         Will be required to develop a detailed working knowledge of M3
·         Demonstrated planning, organizing and attention to detail capabilities
·         Detailed knowledge of aircraft components and a working understanding of the components in an aircraft
·         Knowledge of mechanical and electrical/hydraulic systems
·         Computer oriented; Microsoft Excel and Word experience an asset
·         Ability to aid M3 Support with trouble shooting and testing
·         Research skills
·         Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team
·         Strong problem solving ability
