Title IT Support Specialist

Responsibilities This is a full-time position providing first-level telephone and/or on-site support to a user base located in Vancouver. This challenging opportunity will provide the right person with a rewarding opportunity for problem solving within a highly technical environment. Duties include:


•Support users in multiple small networked environments
•On-site, remote control, phone and email support
•Workstation support including hardware and software installations and troubleshooting
•Assist with the planning and implementation of new installs, moves, adds and changes of laptop, desktop and communication devices as needed
•Maintain hardware and software inventories and documentation
•Troubleshoot Windows XP Professional and Windows 7 workstation issues
•Troubleshoot MS Office issues
•Prepare audiovisual (projector, laptops, network, sound, etc) in conference rooms
Requirements Degree or Certificate from an accredited college in an Information Technology related field or 1-2 years equivalent work experience
•Experience supporting a variety of desktop systems and applications including Microsoft Windows and Office products, wireless, VOIP, LAN/WAN, VPN & Internet technology
•Use of a vehicle as local travel is an occasional requirement
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service, along with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
•Proven experience and/or an ability to interact with users for all levels of technical inquiries
•A+, Network+, Help Desk Institute or other industry certifications would be an asset
•Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
•Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and take direction within a team environment
•The ability to lift and transport objects such as computers, printers, etc. is required
