Position Summary:
 
Critigen is looking for a senior-level Solutions Architect with strong geospatial information technology (IT), IT architecture and governance experience. Additionally, the candidate must have sales support, direct sales and marketing experience.  The successful candidate will provide expertise in the development of various client strategic planning and implementation efforts.  Applicants will understand how geospatial IT can be postured to complement and sustain enterprise business architectures. Applicants must have demonstrated understanding and experience with the sales process of positioning, estimating and proposing to win new work. Applicants must have a proven ability of working in a consulting environment that leads to follow on projects.  Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation and have the ability to manage multiple tasks and perform work on time and within budget resources.  Applicants should have the ability to attain a US federal government security clearance. This is a unique opportunity to join a talented team of software development and business consulting professionals and work on a variety of exciting and challenging projects.
 
Education:
 
B.S./B.A. in Geography, Computer Science, Marketing or a related field from an accredited college or university
 
Years of Experience:
 
Minimum of eight (8) years experience
 
 
Primary Skills:
 
  • Proven track record in implementing geospatial IT in an enterprise environment
  • Experienced in shaping and instituting geospatial IT governance processes
  • Basic knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
  • Experienced in employing enterprise architecture and IT portfolio management tools
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements
  • Ability to define multiple solution options to business problems
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
  • Knowledge of key aspects of the geospatial data and technology industry
  • Consultative relationship builder with clients
  • Ability to find new accounts and sell consulting services
  • Ability to diligently track sales leads and opportunities and report progress
  • Knowledge of government contracts, and the contracting process
  • Excellent proposal writing and project estimating skills
  • Ability to develop project schedules and resolve project issues with clients
  •  Ability to prepare invoices and manage projects to ‘as sold’ scope, schedule and budget
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Find new clients, lead client engagements, provide sales support, manage opportunities, and develop proposals to successful award
  • Employ enterprise architecture, portfolio management, and governance best practices to design and implement enduring geospatial IT solutions for our clients’ enterprises
  • Successfully fulfill all facets of project management for select clients
