Position Description Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing technical procedures within the Histology laboratory including but not limited to, embedding, microtomy, routine and special staining. The successful candidate must be available for all shifts including weekends.
Educational Requirements:
  • Must be a graduate of a recognized program for Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (C.M.L.T.O)
  • Successful candidates must have demonstrated understanding of quality assurance and good laboratory practice.
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills, high level of initiative, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence of participation in continuing education
  • Good understanding of microanatomy
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other computer software applications 
  • Preference will be given to applicants with recent experience in Histology
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance record required
