Position Description Job Description:                                                                      
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the operation of the Clinical Genetics Service. This service provides diagnosis and counseling in the areas of prenatal, cancer, paediatric and adult genetics to patients affected by or at risk of genetic disorders.
  • Provide genetic consultation for pregnant and non-pregnant individuals regarding; abnormal prenatal screening results and test results, family history of a genetic condition, cancer genetics, abnormal genetic test results initiated by primary health care provider, personal medical history of a suspected genetic condition
  • Participation in on-call and triage duties as part of scheduled rotation
  • Participation in department meetings/rounds
  • Participation in education and teaching rounds of general public, medical students, health care providers and hospital staff
  • Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling required
  • CAGC board eligibility/board certification or equivalent
  • Previous clinical experience is beneficial
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance required
