Given the challenges facing health care in Ontario today, we know that the continued delivery of exceptional patient care will require us to adopt more innovative approaches. As such, Trillium Health Partners has committed to a brave new strategic plan- one that promises a new kind of health care for a healthier community. While we understand that many factors will need to be considered to deliver this promise, we believe that a key factor will be committing to a robust research and innovation program. In support of this program, Trillium Health Partners is seeking a Chair in Senior’s Health and Wellness.
The Chair Holder, Senior’s Health and Wellness will report to the VP of Research and Innovation. The Chair Holder will work collaboratively with our medical staff and will sit within our Research and Innovation Office, where s/he will have access to a variety of supporting functions to assist them in advancing his/her research.
The Chair Holder will be responsible for leading research projects that advance the discipline of seniors’ health through improvements and innovations to health care treatment and delivery.
The Chair Holder will help further develop the existing culture of innovation within our organization, ensuring a healthy environment of learning and collaboration, and help attract top research talent to the organization. As a world leader in seniors’ health, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in achieving the organization’s vision, mission and strategic initiatives. In particular, s/he will help transition Trillium Health Partners into a different kind of community hospital – one that helps advance a superior, sustainable model of health care through research and innovation.
The successful candidate must have a deep and broad understanding of seniors’ health and wellness and have a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated research leadership in a large, complex health care and/or academic organization. The candidate need not be a clinician, but should possess a strong understanding of the clinical environment. High performing, inspired, engaging, and dynamic, the new Chair Holder will lead by example, inspire others, possess sound judgment, and help establish Trillium Health Partners as a world leader in seniors’ health.
