Position Description


Job Description: 
We are seeking an individual who demonstrates the values of the organization, is an excellent team leader and can work collaboratively with others to attain organizational goals. The successful candidate will perform routine and special tests and develop and/or perform technically challenging procedures in the above clinical area. While working under the manager, you will assume responsibility for day-to-day operations of an area of biochemistry and support the manager in his/her absence when required. You will participate in the educational programs of the department.
  •  Candidate must be a graduate of a recognized program for Medical Laboratory Technologists and be certified by the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
  • It is essential that the candidate demonstrate leadership qualities, have a high level of initiative, emotional intelligence, time management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, group facilitation skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Candidate must demonstrate effectiveness in analytical thinking, problem solving and multitasking.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a high level of knowledge and understanding of quality assurance, quality control and related statistics, as well as proficient computer skills.
  • A minimum of five years of related clinical experience is essential as well as a demonstrated involvement in relevant continuing education in biochemistry.
  • A commitment to advanced education is required to be effective in this role and preference will be given to individuals with advanced certification in the above clinical area or similar advanced technical education.
  • Formal training/education in organizational leadership would also be an asset.
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance required.
