Located in Mississauga, Ontario, The Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre treats nearly 3000 patients a year on six Varian linear accelerators. Imaging is performed on two Philips Brilliance Big Bore CT-Simulators. Operationally, we are a filmless and paperless environment running Eclipse treatment planning and Aria radiation information systems. There are active programs in VMAT, SBRT, IMRT and IGRT, with plans for brachytherapy in the near future.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all clinical, educational and research activities of the Physics Department. Clinical activities include acceptance testing and commissioning of new equipment, maintenance of dosimetric data, quality assurance, and treatment planning support. All physicists are expected to be active leaders in the development of technical improvement in the radiation planning and treatment program.
· Graduate degree in Medical Physics. PhD preferred
· Successful completion of Ontario Peer Review A examination or equivalent
· Previous experience in Radiation Oncology and Physics - preferred
· Membership in the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine – preferred
· Strong communication skills
· Satisfactory attendance and performance required
